สื่่อสังคมออนไลน์กับการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของคนไทยในต่่างประเทศ

บทคัดย่อ

This research aimed to divide the Thai diaspora into groups based on Darren G. Lilleker’s political communication theory and examine the usage of social media and political participation of the Thai diaspora from 2009–2019. Data was collected through qualitative research, consisting of online document searches and case studies selected by a purposive sampling method.

The result revealed that, based on Darren G. Lilleker’s political communication theory, the Thai diaspora can be divided into four groups: authorities and public organization agents, pressure groups, the media, and citizens. Hence, the Thai diaspora uses social media for four types of political participation: to receive news and information, to express their political views, to participate in political activities, and to interact with people in the same political groups.
