Who should Attend This Course
Governments' Ministry of Health and NGOs plan, develop, strengthen, expand platforms and implement purposive projects and health systems at various levels to ensure that their health interventions and delivery systems benefit the populations.
This 5-Days course is designed for professionals who work in the health sector as policy makers, project officers and managers of health programs and projects whether they have a medical background or not. This is not a medical or clinical course but rather it is for anyone interested in supporting health programs and projects. The interactive and participatory workshop, designed and conducted by highly qualified and experienced health program managers, will help participants identify areas where they can excel, and where they have opportunities for growth in their life-long learning process.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
· Understand the principles and main functions of project management as applied to the health sector
· Acquire appropriate knowledge and skills to:
1. Analyse national and local health systems;
2. Organise, plan and manage health-care services;
3. Conduct monitoring and evaluating of health-care services;
4. Design and conduct health systems research.
Strategies, frameworks and tools developed by WHO, UN agencies and international partners for improving and managing health projects including MCH, RH, ASRH, HIV prevention, Nutrition, etc.;
Rights-based approach and gender programming;
Sociocultural determinants of health;
Theory of Change (TOC) as applied to health programs;
Conducting situation and stakeholders analysis;
Organizing and planning health-care services;
Monitoring, evaluation and supervision of health-care services;
Operations and health systems research;
Application of WHO Strategic Approach for improving the quality of health services;
Improving the quality of health-care services in resource-poor settings.
The course will be very interactive which includes instructor presentations, case studies, individual and group exercises and presentations;
There is also a possibility of a field trip within the city or to a nearby province to observe successful projects. (Participants will need to pay for additional local transport if this takes place);
The medium of instruction is in English.

All of them have worked with one or more of the following including governments, UN agencies, development banks, and NGOs in various capacities, including management of country programs.

Investment for this 5-Day program is USD$ 1,400.00 per participant. This goes to pay for tuition fee, all training materials, lunches and refreshments (during the class days) and a certificate;
The fees do not cover the cost of airfares, airport pick-up and drop-off, local transportation, visa and hotel accommodation;
ADCC is NOT in a position to offer any scholarships or funding. Participants are encouraged to seek funding opportunities with their employers or funding agencies.

To get a 10% “Early Bird” discount, you must pay the course fee 30 days before the course start date;
ADCC alumni are provided a discount of 5% on the tuition fee in addition to the early bird discount. Please indicate the year and course you had previously attended;

Citizens of some countries need to have visa prior to coming into Thailand. ADCC will assist them to apply for their visa with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, release of the Thai Visa Letter and the Invitation Letter will be made only after receipt of tuition fee;
For citizens of countries that need to apply for Thai entry visa in another country, they will need to indicate which country they will go to for their visa application (example - Afghan nationals can get their visa in India or Pakistan);
Please note that the visa processing time takes 1 - 2 weeks here in Bangkok. We suggest that you apply for the course at least 2 months in advance to ensure on-time release of visa.
TRAINING VENUE & ACCOMMODATION
The training will be held in the state-of-the-art training facilities located within the campus of Dhurakij Pundit University in Bangkok, Thailand;
Due to heavy traffic conditions in Bangkok, we suggest that participants stay within the university campus or nearby;
ADCC will block-book rooms for confirmed participants in the DPU Place Hotel that is in the university campus (http://www.dpu.ac.th/dpuplace/). The room rate is published in the hotel website and is to be paid by the participant through ADCC, separate from the tuition fee. In case there are no more rooms available, ADCC can help book rooms in nearby selected hotels or guest houses outside the university campus.
ADCC reserves the right to cancel a sceduled course due to unavoidable circumstances or when the minimum number of participants is not met.
