New Program: Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business

// February 2nd, 2010 // No Comments » // Campus Life, News

Current and future international business practitioners are coming under increasingly challenging environmental and competitive pressures. The growing globalization, and regionalization, of business and competition mean that companies ever more value those graduates who have a specialist comprehension of international business. To build a career in the global business environment, these graduates must also have the knowledge to “think globally” and the skills and experience to “act locally”.

Nonetheless, being successful in the global market has been largely assessed by financial performance that an organization have generated; whilst overlooking their impacts on the society and environment. This has resulted in unethical business conducted by multi-national organizations which eventually led to the current global economic crisis. In order to overcome such challenges, the triple bottom line, focusing on “social, economic and environmental” should be taken into consideration to ensure the sustainability of not only the profit, but also the society and the environment.

In response to such situational change Dhurakij Pundit University, through its International College, offers an innovative and multidisciplinary program, the Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business. This program covers both theoretical and practical issues of global business; with focus on the above mentioned triple bottom line. This program will equip students with first-hand, real-world knowledge of sustainable global business practice, as well as specialized knowledge and skills relating to cultural, regional and leadership aspects of becoming a successful international business professional of the future.

  • Address emerging issues in aquaculture development.
  • Assess opportunities and challenges for future aquaculture development.
  • Build consensus on advancing aquaculture as a global, sustainable and competitive food production sector.

Ajarn Adventures: Prutyumon’s Trip to Sweden (Part 1)

// June 17th, 2009 // 3 Comments » // News, Staff

Hi my name is Ajarn Prutyumon Lepananon and I was awarded a scholarship from the ASEM-DUO Fellowship Program; which meant becoming an exchange lecturer and visiting a partner European university. This is the first installment of my adventure to Sweden.

So this April I visited the Baltic Business School (BBS) at the University of Kalmar, which is located in the south of Sweden. Kalmar a lovely and serene city with stunning lakes and scenery.  The Swedish people (Swedes) have wonderful personalities who are nice, friendly and helpful. I was also impressed that nearly all of the Swedes whom I met can communicate English very well, and they are willing to do so!

EcoFacts: Climate Change in Bangkok

// June 15th, 2009 // No Comments » // Going Green, News

According to a recent report – “Greater Bangkok is home to more than 10 million people or nearly 15 per cent of Thailand’s population, although the registered population is closer to 6 million. The city’s rapid growth as an industrial and urban centre is already placing strains on its environment. Climate change will exacerbate these pressures.”

“Temperatures are expected to rise as a result of global warming. The likely consequences on the city, already prone to flooding and land subsistence, will be severe.”

What could happen to Bangkok as a result of global warming? Find out more in this interesting report by the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP)…
