How to Apply
Applicants must be lecturers who represent the candidates’ institution. The steps are outlined below:

  1. See details and rules at our website:   http://www.dpu.ac.th/chinese
  2. Click "Enter the Contest" (the applicant must be and then click “Create a user’s account”. Fill out the form, providing all required information. Create your own account and the password so that you can later confirm your application and edit / add / check the applicant’s profile. (One institution can have more than one account. Users in the same institution can edit / add / check each candidate’s profile.) Click “I agree” (to disclose the information) before clicking “create the user’s account”.
  3. Click “log in” in order to register for the competition. Fill out the form, providing all required information.
  4. The applicants can save or edit the candidate’s profile until 14 July 2017, 12.00 am. The online application system will be closed after that. If you require any other information or need to edit the candidate’s profile, please contact http://www.dpu.ac.th/chinese or Tel. 02954-7300 ext. 899.
  5. One week after the last day of application, the applicants can check the status, the seat numbers, and the room numbers. Please print out the application document for the institution administrator’s endorsement. You need to submit this document at the administration center on the event day (6 August 2017). Please print the confirmation document according to the number of candidates in order to use it to enter the examination room. (If you do not have the printed confirmation document, the board reserves the right to deny your entry to the competition.)

 

Requirments for the candidates / contestants

  1. Contestants must be currently enrolled in a national higher education.
  2. Candidates must be nominated by the university, and the application document must be endorsed by the Dean / the Program Head. Each university is able to submit an unlimited number of students.
  3. Contestants must present their student ID card and their National ID card on the event day.

 

Competition Rules

  1. The contest is created for individual contestants only and the contestants are divided into two categories. The categories are: 1) contestants with Thai and non-Chinese nationality, and 2) contestants with Chinese nationality.
  2. An unlimited number of students may apply for the competition as long as an endorsement is officially given by the Dean / the Program Head.
  3. The competition is divided into three rounds as follows:
          1. Diamond Selecting Round (round 1): Universities select students for the competition.
          2. For contestants with Thai and non-Chinese nationality - Diamond Cutting Round (round 2): All students whose names are selected from round 1 will attend examinations according to their competency in the Chinese language, subject to the scope of HSK examinations. The Contest Committee will then select the top ten students with the highest scores to compete in the Diamond Crown Jewel Round (round 3). Students who rank at between 11 th to 20 th places will receive consolation scholarships of 2,000 baht.
          3. The Diamond Crown Jewel Round (round 3): Students must demonstrate the ability to write an essay and deliver a speech without looking at their essay notes. The topic of the essay and speech will be given by the committee on the event day. (The essay must be completed in 1 hour with at least 2,000 characters and the speech should be five minutes in length.)

 

Award for Chinese learning support
     1. The school that sends contestants and gets the First award, Second award, or Third award will receive the honor trophy.
     2. The lecturers of students who enter The Diamond Crown Jewel Round (round 3) will receive a certificate and a commemorative medal.
     3. The parents of students who enter the Diamond Crown Jewel round (round 3) will receive a certificate.

Scheduled on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Dhurakij Pundit University, Lak Si District, Bangkok.
