DPU started offering the 4–year B.A. Program (141 credits) in Tourism and Hotel Studies in 1987. Furthermore, the 2–year continuing program in Tourism and Hotel Studies (87 credits) has been offered since 1993. Both 4–year and 2–year programs aim to prepare students to become active working members of the hospitality and tourism industry. They are, moreover, expected to be competent in computer skills together with interpersonal and communication skills and familiarized with ethics for the industry in order to become successful in their career paths in the future. The curriculums are to be revised every 5 years in order to strengthen the programs and meet the requirements of the industry. The latest revision was implemented in 2012, allowing students to concentrate on particular areas of study: Tourism or Hospitality.
