Mr. Scandlen is an Associate and Faculty Member of ADCC with extensive experience in communication for development (C4D) and behaviour change communication. He is a Communication Specialist, Consultant, Advisor, Trainer and University lecturer.
Over a career span of more than 40 years, Guy has worked for UNICEF serving as Regional Communication Advisor in the UNICEF Regional Office for West and Central Africa where he was responsible for developing communication for behavioural change programmes; as Programme Coordinator/Deputy Representative in UNICEF Sri Lanka; Programme Officer for Early Childhood Development and Education in UNICEF Myanmar; and as Regional Programme Support Communications Officer in UNICEF East Asia and Pakistan Regional Office, Bangkok, Thailand.
Since leaving UNICEF, he has worked as an independent C4D Consultant and has offered consultancy services to many organizations including UNICEF worldwide and contributed himself as a Special Instructor at Chiangmai University, Thailand; Advisor to the Division of Social Science and Communication at the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University in Bangkok; and Faculty member of ADCC. His expertise includes planning and development of communication strategies, behaviour change and development strategies, participatory communication in communities, and much more.
Guy Scandlen holds BA in Comparative Literature from Grinnell College, Iowa, USA, and MA in International Communications from California State University, Fullerton, USA.
